FAQ’s

  • Eyebrow tattoos vary widely in price, this is because those new to the industry might charge a small amount to gain clients and experience and those that have been in the industry for a long time have undertaken the experience and training to perform an excellent job will charge more.

In other words, you definitely get what you pay for.

The price will also vary depending on locations, the cities tend to charge more than in the country areas.

The cost for good quality pigments and needles are extremely high in cosmetic tattooing so it is worth noting that if you are paying any less than $400 for an eyebrow tattoo then be wary, it is likely the products used by the technician are not of good quality.

  • Microblading uses a small handheld blade to cut through the epidermis to what is commonly referred to as the “sweet spot” this is the area just above the dermis.

The action leaves the epidermal layer open, upon healing a scar is formed which traps the pigment inside.

Microblading is considered a “deep technique”

Microblading may last up to 6 months and only three treatments of microblading can be performed before the skin becomes too scarred and the client must convert to a powder brow (cosmetic tattoo procedure) and as such is called a stepping stone technique.

Cosmetic tattooing uses a tattoo pen to penetrate tiny impressions into the skin, up to 1000 per second. The needle is coated in pigment and implants the pigment as it skips across the epidermis, these impressions are so fine that the skin heals without scarring.

Cosmetic tattoo is commonly referred to as a “Shallow technique”

Cosmetic tattooing can last for 18months to 3 years plus before a colour boost.

Is microblading or tattooing eyebrows better?

Choosing between microblading and eyebrow tattooing depends on your desired outcome. Microblading offers a more natural, hair-like appearance, while tattooing provides a more defined and long-lasting result.

  • Sometimes the procedure causes temporary swelling, redness and in rare cases, bruising.

Most people do not need to take time from their employment. If you have travel plans, wedding or other special occasions to attend, please plan your microblading procedure accordingly.

  • Anyone who wants to accentuate their brows and save time applying makeup every day has experienced a big life-changing event, has alopecia or trichotillomania, has thinning brows due to age maturity or overplucking, is suffering from poor vision, limited or poor motor skills, arthritis or other physical challenges. Every person who uses an eyebrow pencil is a candidate.

Anyone whose brows are blonde or light in color can enjoy microblading, combination or ombre brows – micro shading – powder brows – in customized shapes and custom blended colors that enhance their facial features.

  • There are multiple things to consider when choosing microblading or cosmetic tattooing, unfortunately, it is not a question of which one is better but a question of which one is more suitable for you.

Microblading, for example, is a “deep technique” so it is not suitable for aging, thin or damaged skin types, a general rule is no one over 35 years old.

because of the nature of the cutting and implanting pigment this damage to the epidermis will immediately result in an immune response and fluid and oils being pushed to the surface of the skin because of this it is not suitable for oily skin tones.

Microblading will create feathering or feather stroke brows look for the short term however depth of the pigment often results in the feathering blending and spreading under the skin within a few months which cannot be undone without removal.

Cosmetic tattooing can create the same feather stroke or feathering effect called nano strokes if this is the look that you are after this is an advanced technique and the artist must be well trained in nano strokes.

Cosmetic tattooing is suitable for most skin types, techniques and styles of cosmetic tattooing can be easily adjusted to suit skin type, skin integrity, and undertones.

Cosmetic tattooing is suitable for most people except for those with extremely thin skin.

  • Eyebrow tattoos are not painful if the correct techniques are used.

The tattoo process skips across the epidermis only just penetrating the top layers of tissue and not hitting the nerve receptors of the skin.

However thin skins and sensitive skin types may feel a slight scratching sensation.

  • Eyebrow tattooing should last 18 months to three years without doing anything; however annual colour boosts are recommended to keep the tattoo looking fresh and vibrant,

What lasts longer, microblading or eyebrow tattoo?

Eyebrow tattoos generally last longer than microblading. While microblading can last 1 to 2 years, eyebrow tattoos can last up to 3 years or more, depending on the technique and aftercare.

Will eyebrow tattoos fade? Yes, eyebrow tattoos will fade over time. Fading occurs due to factors like sun exposure, skin type, and the body's natural exfoliation process.

  • No, Pigments implanted in the skin will lighten over time as the skin sheds, and the body's natural immune response slowly absorbs the pigment particles, but it will not completely fade.

Pigments are made of multiple colors to get the desired shade. For example, the color brown has different variations of blue, red, and yellow. Each color has different size pigment particles, so the body easily absorbs some more than others.

The yellow is the first to fade, leaving behind a purple/blue hue, then the blue will gradually absorb away, leaving a pink/salmon pigmented eyebrow.

When touchups occur, the missing pigments are tattooed back into the brow area to bring it back to the original color.

These days pigments are modified in the studio to enable colors to fade at the same speed and lighten consistently over time.

  • Pigment particles exposed to the UV rays of the sun break down over time. Pigment particles in your skin used to create your eyebrow tattoos are exposed to the UV rays of the sun. To prevent premature fading, you will need to use sunblock consistently. Avoiding the sun, tanning beds, retinol, alpha-hydroxy, and use of glycolic acids such as fruit acids commonly found in some toners, cleansers, and moisturizers will help with the longevity of your microblading.

  • We specialize in enhancing your natural beauty. We help you choose an eyebrow design that complements your face. We choose colors that complement your skin tone and match your natural hair.

Our years of experience, investment in continuing education, advanced techniques, and equipment give us an edge in creating realistic, natural makeup tattoos.

  • Microblading typically takes about 4 to 6 weeks to fully heal. Here's a breakdown of the healing process:

    Days 1-7: Initial Healing

Day 1: The area will be red and tender, and the pigment will look darker than expected.

Days 2-4: Swelling and redness subside, but the brows may feel tight and itchy.

Days 5-7: Scabbing begins, and the brows may appear flaky and patchy.

    Weeks 2-4: Intermediate Healing

Week 2: Scabs will start to fall off, and the brows may look lighter or patchy.

Week 3: The pigment begins to resurface, and the brows start to look more natural.

Week 4: The color stabilizes, and the brows take on their final shape.

    Weeks 4-6: Final Healing

Week 4-6: The skin is fully healed, and any remaining light areas will fill in, revealing the final results.

  • This depends on a few factors, the health of the person, the age and the type and style of tattoo, Touch-ups range from 12 months to 3 years once your initial tattoo is completed

In some cases it is not a tattoo touch up that is required, you may just need a fresh tine and wax to brighten the colour.

  • This is a tricky one, there are multiple factors that come into play when touching up another artist’s work, if the brow is too saturated with pigment, meaning no more pigment will fit in the skin, then we may require a course of removal first.

If the pigment used is of low quality and or a body art ink, then a colour correction or removal may be required and if there is scar tissue then needling may be required before the tattoo process.

So in short Yes, I can touch up another Artist's work, however, it may not be as simple as just adding more colour.

  • This depends on the current brow composition, if there are multiple steps needed to create the perfect brow for you for example as above, then this price will be discussed at your consultation.

Alternatively, If you are happy with the brow shape but would like more colour added and the initial brow tattoo has been performed by a reputable artist then we will charge our touch up prices.
