Inside Your Aftercare Kit
Your kit has been carefully put together with everything you need to keep your new lips clean, protected, and healing beautifully:
Green Soap Cleanser – A gentle, professional-grade cleanser made from natural oils and plant-based ingredients. It’s widely used in the tattoo industry to safely remove impurities without stripping away pigment or irritating the skin.
AfterInked® Aftercare Lotion – A premium, vegan-friendly healing lotion that hydrates, soothes, and supports healthy skin recovery while helping to lock in your new colour.
Cotton Pads – Soft, absorbent pads for gentle cleansing and blotting without pulling on the skin.
Cotton Tips – Perfect for precise application of your aftercare lotion and for spot cleaning small areas.
First of all — thank you for trusting True Skin Clinic with your treatment.
Whether you’ve just had brows, lips, eyeliner, or SMP done, the way you care for your skin in the next few days will make all the difference to your results.
We’ve put everything you need right here, so you can follow along step-by-step.
Lip Aftercare – Healing Timeline & Tips
Days 1–2:
Lips will be swollen and tender.
Colour may darken temporarily, then lighten by 30–50% during healing.
Blot gently with a clean cotton pad for the first hour after treatment to remove lymph fluid.
Days 3–14:
Swelling should be gone. Lips may feel dry and start shedding in strips — do not pick.
Use a straw for drinks and avoid spicy, salty, or acidic foods for 72 hours.
Day 28+:
Colour will have “bloomed” and your follow-up will perfect the shape and shade.
General Rules
Do not pick, scratch, or rub the treated area — let any flaking or scabs shed naturally.
Keep the area dry for at least 7 days — avoid soaking, swimming, saunas, and steam.
Avoid sweating (gym, hot yoga, intense workouts) for one week — sweat contains salt, which can fade pigment.
No makeup or skincare products on the treated area until healed.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks — UV fades pigment quickly.
Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid sleeping face-down for the first week.
If lymph fluid appears, gently dab it away with a clean tissue — do not rub.
