YOUR SMP AFTERCARE

Congratulations on your gorgeous new SMP!

Inside Your Aftercare Kit

Your kit has been carefully put together with everything you need to keep your scalp clean, protected, and healing beautifully after your SMP treatment:

  • Green Soap Cleanser – A gentle, professional-grade cleanser made from natural oils and plant-based ingredients. It’s widely used in the tattoo industry to remove impurities without stripping pigment or irritating the skin safely.

  • AfterInked® Aftercare Lotion – A premium, vegan-friendly healing lotion that hydrates, soothes, and supports healthy skin recovery while helping to lock in your pigment.

  • Cocoa Butter Oil – Rich in natural fatty acids, this lightweight oil nourishes and softens the scalp once the initial healing stage is complete, helping to keep skin healthy and your SMP looking fresh for longer.

  • Cotton Pads – Soft, absorbent pads for gentle cleansing and blotting without friction.

First of all — thank you for trusting True Skin Clinic with your treatment.
Whether you’ve just had brows, lips, eyeliner, or SMP done, the way you care for your skin in the next few days will make all the difference to your results.

We’ve put everything you need right here, so you can follow along step-by-step.

Day 0–4: Keep It Clean & Dry

  • Treat your SMP like a fresh tattoo — no washing, no touching, no products on the scalp for the first 4 days.

  • Avoid sweating, the gym, saunas, swimming, and direct sunlight — salt, heat, and moisture can disturb pigment during this stage.

  • If you need to be outdoors, wear a loose, breathable hat for protection.

  • Redness or mild swelling is normal and should settle quickly.

Day 5–14: Gentle Care & Light Moisture

  • You can start gently rinsing with cool to lukewarm water — no scrubbing or high-pressure showers. Pat dry with a clean towel.

  • If your scalp feels dry or tight, apply a tiny amount of cocoa butter oil or AfterInked® lotion once or twice daily.

    • Cocoa butter oil should be high quality and applied sparingly, just enough to soften the skin — too much can block pores or soften scabs before they’re ready to shed.

  • Avoid heavy sweating, intense workouts, or direct sun exposure.

  • You may notice light flaking or mild itchiness — don’t scratch or pick.

Day 15–30: Blooming Phase & Protection

  • Your SMP may look lighter or “faded” during this stage — this is normal. It’s caused by new translucent skin covering the pigment.

  • Over the next few weeks, that skin will naturally shed and reveal your healed colour underneath.

  • Continue to moisturise daily with cocoa butter oil or AfterInked®, and now introduce SPF 30+ or a hat whenever you’re outdoors.

  • Still avoid harsh ingredients, scrubs, or chemical exfoliants.

Long-Term Maintenance

  • Keep your scalp hydrated with light cocoa butter oil or AfterInked®.

  • Always use SPF 30+ outdoors — UV is the fastest way to fade pigment.

  • Avoid prolonged chlorine exposure, and rinse your scalp after swimming.

  • Schedule touch-ups every 2–5 years to keep your SMP looking fresh and defined.
